Corrosion mapping

For corrosion verification, we use the ultrasonic Phased Array technique with data recording and emission of the corrosion map.
The main applications of our competence are aimed at inspections on relatively small areas, for example:

  • Inspection on 100% of surfaces of a few square meters (eg spots on pressure tanks). In these cases, we perform a semi-automatic control usually using Olympus scanners.
  • Inspections along pre-established reticles on even very large surfaces. (eg bottom or floating roofs of large storage tanks). In these cases, we use PA probes mounted on Olympus or IMG scanners, manual or motorized.
  • Specific zones on pipelines containing fluids, in which there is suspected presence of erosion (eg extrados on curves).
  • Corrosion check and measurement of residual thickness up to 0.5 mm, on plates or tubes that also have corrosion on the scanning surface. For this purpose we use dual linear PA probe.
